reptisun 10.0

hi everyone ive read alot of stories about people forgetting to remove plastics and films off their reptile uvb bulbs. i was wondering if the reptisun 10.0 has any of these special plastics or films on it that you have to remove. i havent seen anything all i did was take the light out of the packet and fit it into a bare batten uv fixture. thanx.

The plastic piece people are referring to is actually on the light fixture itself. If you're able to touch the bulb in the fixture without anything in the way you have nothing to worry about

so theyre talking about the diffusser? thats covers the bulb?

the covering is on the light fixture itself, not on the bulb...

yea alot of people buy the under the counter flourescant light strip from walmart, and theres a plastic protector over the bulb, just pop that off and your good.

Unfortunately for my first dragon, he went all his life with the plastic cover on it as no one ever told me to take it off. I even told my co-workers at Petsmart after I had found out, and they didn't even know anything about it. We researched it together and found out that you do indeed have to take it off, and now they know. It's kind of sad that people that are supposed to know the best for our pets really know the least :?
