Reptisun 10.0 t5 or t8 for MBD

I just purchased a reptisun 10.0 hood and t8 bulb for my 4.5 month old beardie who I suspect has MBD. After reading up a bit more, I'm wondering if I should have gone with the t5 bulb... Can anyone explain the difference and give advice please?

Also, the t8 is currently on top of the screen of a 40 gallon tank. So 18" from the floor, but about 6" from the highest basking branch (where my beardie tends to sit all day - he never seems to leave the basking area except to eat or poo). I may be able to adjust the lid so that the screen is not below the light - would that be suggested in this case?

Yes the t5 is the one you need, it is stronger than the t8

Sorry to say this but yes, it takes a different fixture.
