So my beardie has had some worm problems for the past few weeks, I took him to the vet and they gave him some medicine, it helped but didn't completely rid him of the worms. I took another fecal sample to the vet today and he still has hookworm and coccidia (originally he'd had those two plus roundworm). So they gave me more medicine and sent me home.
I was just about to go clean his tank and give him some medicine and food when the phone rings. Turns out it's the vet's office calling to tell me that they'd done some more research about parasite infestations in bearded dragons, and she recommended I get a product called Reptile Xtra that might help reinforce the beneficial effects of the medicine.
I did a quick google search after I got off the phone and couldn't find a whole lot. I did a search of this forum and found a couple people saying they've used it before. So I just wanted to make a general post asking if anyone here knows anything about it, has used it before, what kind of results it gives?
Apparently there is a pellet form and a powder form. I highly doubt my dragon will eat the pellets. He doesn't like to eat anything that isn't moving. The powder form should be "sprinkled over moist vegetables" or something like that, but he barely ever eats his veggies, either... So could the powder be used kind of like his calcium or multivitamin, dusted over his crickets?
Any opinions or experiences would be helpful! Thanks in advance!
