I'm sorry I didn't have the guts to do it sooner. I just really want to believe everyone wants to do the right thing, I hate believing that supposedly qualified people can neglect their job when that job means the well-being of living things. Be it a parent or a animal technician the basic job is the same, you fail at being a parent and your children are taken away but if you fail at the other chances are you'll be able to just fly under the radar. :(

Andi - Let us help you too!! WE can make calls and send letters/emails as well - we saw the pictures!! The pictures say it all!!!

I quoted you above because I'm a high school teacher and the bottom line is people in general will do the minimum to get by - it isn't until people speak up and intervene that changes occur - I see "children" (REALLY teenagers) that have been neglected for years - and it's gone on because noone has spoken up!

Just like the teenagers in front of me sitting in my classroom will try to get away with doing things ie the littlest amount of work possible - most people are like that. That's why we have to have high standards for people.

It's no different than 2 people doing the same job, getting paid the same salary, - one works their butt off and the other does the bare minimum - unless someone speaks up or the boss notices - it will continue for forever!

It's human nature.

so again please let us help if you need us to!

Hi Andi,

Please let us help so this doesn't get brushed under some rug with no consequences to the "person" responsible.

Wow, I never put the numbers together. That's insane. It's incredible how quickly time passes, I was sure I'd be tough enough not to put confrontation off.

I will go to the head of the department Friday with the pictures I took of the beardies, a copy of the care sheet on this site and everyone concerns. I'll also look up the information for the ASPCA and give it to them, if the animals are truly beyond help at the opinion of a qualified vet then their suffering needs to be taken away but regardless they both need to be accessed by someone with a license and not a school employee.

Hi Andi,
It's about 9pm here in New York on Friday night. Were you successful....... anything?

How about the name of the university....for the beardies?

Alright, so I went to the biology office and the head person was very nice and concerned and asked questions. I gave him a copy of the pictures of the lizards and a copy of the caresheet with the major points bolded. I was tempted to just slip it infer the door so it was anonomous but he was there and greeted me when I walked up so I didn't have much of a choice.

I had gone back in this thread so id have dates for when I first seen them, when their substrate changed and when they went missing. The head guy looked at the pictures, asked me my experience with them and if I have contacted the person who was in charge of them. In the end he didn't know where they were but he said he was taking this seriously and he would get to the bottom of it. He said I was welcome to come back into his office and check in and he appreciated bringing all of our concers to his attention.

ive been following this thread for a while, but didnt post. but i felt that you needed a huge THANK YOU from not just us, the people on here, but from the bearded dragons you are trying to help. Its not too often you find people who are selfless enough to take time out of their schedule to help those in need. (minus many people on here, of course). Its people like you that help me keep faith in people. :D

Hi Andi, that sure took alot of courage, but I'm hopeful that those dragons will be found & given the attention that they need. Please keep us updated when you talk to the head of the biology office. You do rock :headbang: :notworthy: Well done, as you can tell we all love our beardies & hate when we hear about beardies that are being abused. I've rescued a few, so I know how much work & love it takes to rehabilitate them. Thanks again!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
