ReptiGlo same as ReptiSun?

What is the difference between the ReptiSun and ReptiGlo tube lights? I've gone to several places looking to buy the reptisun and they say
they only have the reptiglo and that there is no difference. Also, Why is it not okay to get the ReptiSun in the coil? I went to a place today and a guy told me they won't be making the strip bulbs anymore and that they are considered "obsolete" because they take too much effort when you can get the same thing from the coil. Anyone have any input for me?

The tube bulb going obsolete LOL! The only thing that's obsolete is the coil bulb

The tube is more of a hassle but no it won't be going anywhere, It covers alot more space and doesn't blind the dragons. Coils are only bought by 1st time beardie owners and people that have other herps.
I have a ReptiSun and a ReptiGlo 10.0 tube. One in one viv and one in another. Both my dragons are fat happy and healthy. ReptiGlo got a bad name awhile back but has since fixed the issue (so I have read). My girl has the glo and she has no issues hanging out within 6-8 inches from it on her favorite spot nor has she in the past 3 months I've had the bulb. Just don't get the coiled ones and I think you will be fine.

There are big differences in the Reptisun & Reptiglo lights. It's kind of like comparing Chevy to Ford.....yes, they both have 4 wheels and a gas cap.....but definitely different cars.

What are these big differences. When I got my 1st dragon and noticed that I had got a ReptiGlo and not the ReptiSun i searched for hours and nvr found anything besides here say. I still check from time to time. All I have ever found was that over 3 years ago there was an issue with some of the their lights. About 2.5 years ago Exo Terra fixed this issue and now has UVB in the proper amounts and will send you a report of batch findings if you request it. If someone on here can find proof from the past year or even 2 years that this tube is of poor quality i would love to see that.

I know that the reptisun is more expensive and I did hear that a while back they had a problem with the reptiglo when it was owned by another company but since then ExoTerra has bought it and fixed this? The Reptiglo is 20 at most stores while the ReptiSun is 50? Is there any actual difference? I have the reptiglo right now and just want to know if I should replace it with the sun. @_@ Harley, do you see any differences in either of your dragons using two different lights?

If you look at my sig under my posts you can see my 2 dragons. The red on is the one that has been under a reptiGlo her whole life. She is happy and healthy with bright colors. I have yet to see anything that makes me worry about her lighting.
