I guess we did! I didnt even realize you posted before me  I agree it may have a place in rescue care and I think husbandry has alot to do with it.What I want to come from this thread is really to determine exactly how much weight it should carry during the care/treatment of a sick animal.

Brian, the one Vicky and I were thinking of is similar to Tom's because this owner has absolutely great husbandry and the beardies get the best of care.

and in those cases i fully believe that reptaid may have no effect at all. The main reason i back this product is for its ability in the rescue field. I had hopes that it would help toms animals but i doubted it due to knowing how well he cares for his animals. It was worth a shot and it did not work. We both had come to terms with that possibility prior to me sending the reptaid to him.

Honestly i think it should be a integral part of the rescue and quarentine side of keeping. When you bring in a new animal run him a 10 day dose of reptaid to boost him up through the relocation process (as in my history it will significantly speed up the acclimation process) and with rescues, it can help to perk them up, which a more active animal is easier to annotate anything that may be wrong, such as bone missalignments, feeding issues, sight issues, coordination issues, appetite problems. All of those are easier to notice on a more active dragon than on a beaten down rescue that is going through relocation stress. Also, due to its ability to aid in normalizing their systems it can be a great aid in speeding up the recovery process of a rescue or previously poorly cared for dragon.

Might I ask why it is suggested for use to bring a dragon out of brumation? Isn't brumation a natural cycle that a dragon goes through and i would not think it beneficial to a dragon to try to end that cycle early. I have all my lights on a timer which I set to roughly mimick the sun. I change the timing every so often so the lights come on roughly when the sun rises and goes off when the sun sets. This sets and keeps their natural circadian rythym and I believe this is important for a dragon's health. I also think that if a dragon is brumating you should let it brumate and not try to break that cycle. So, just want to know under what cicumstances would anyone want to try to bring a dragon out of brumation?

PS I appologize if I am steering a little off the reptaid discussion but would like clarification on what Elliot said earlier in this thread.

Its not to break the cycle of brumation. But, often times when a dragon comes out of brumation they take some time to get going properly. By using a 5-10 day run of the reptaid you "can" help to get things "back to normal" for them faster as far as it pertains to their system.

Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. After a dragon "wakes" up from his brumation, the Reptaid helps stimulate his appetite and activity. It seems to be a common complaint that after brumation a dragon just won't eat. The Reptaid helps in this situation.

Reptaid is being used by many people in the snake community for all sizes and species of snakes. You most certainly can use it for your green tree python. You can read about treating snakes on our website. We now have species specific instructions for treatment for many different kinds of reptiles. Just go here http://www.reptaid.com/reptaidadminister.htm.
If you have any questions at all just email me or call me anytime directly and I will do all I can to help.
thanks

I have to say, that I just ordered a bottle of Reptaid for my newly adopted beardie who I suspect has a URI, and for my beardie with coccidia. I really can't wait to see how it works. I loaded Elliot's inbox with questions, and he was nice enough to call me and answer all my questions for me. He was very helpful and I hope he knows I appreciate it!

Browneyes your beardie is GORGEOUS! I wish you luck, the reptaid really worked for me. The big girl with the suspected URI made a complete recovery after taking the reptaid for about a week. She has a new home now with one of my coworkers, and is doing fantastic.

My other little girl (the coccidia and impacted beardie) has made a complete 360, passing both impactions and is now doing a lot better.

I am completely thankful for Elliot and the reptaid.

That reminds me... I oughtta dose sahara for her once-monthly treatment.

it's not necessary, but i can tell it helps.

the trick with this stuff is to bathe ur beardie more when treating as they are easier to dehydrate when on reptaid.

 i love this stuff

Could you specify what you mean by dehydrate more quickly? How often do you bethe when on the reptaid?

Right, I would like some more explanation on this dehydration idea. This is the very first time I have seen this comment from anyone who has used Reptaid for any kind of Reptile.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
