I know this is a bd forum but we are in the reptaid discussion. I have had some succes witht the reptaid on the three day treatment for male leopard geckos after breeding. I have these two females that after laying their clutches went off feed. The daily reptaid dose of a drop or two a day seemed to be helping one of them, but along with her eating again she was also regurging half of what she ate. I had to hand feed her the crix and she took four then regurged two. She did the same with some mealies. I beleive the other female was just too far gone. I tend to have atleast one female and one male get pretty bad per year but this year it was a couple breeding pairs that went downhill on me. any suggestions would be helpful as there are no directions for the treatment of leos on the reptaid site.

we are using Reptaid on our Crested Geckos, and several species of Uroplatus (leaftail gecko) but we have never done leos. Although there are a lot of people who have sucessfully used Reptaid for their Leos, this problem of regurgitation with Leos seems to come up. I would suggest posting this question on the gecko forum. http://geckoforums.net/ There are some people on there who have used Reptaid also. They will be more experienced with Leos and may be able to help you solve this problem.

Agree if need Vet. don't mess around. Almost there again, my girl may of bone infection, that's Vet.. Lucky it not, just bad mouth rot, so gave this try. I think it may be helping after 2wk., try to keep posted. I try alot good ontiments for 6wk. and it just stay same. I have Clindamycin in gel, what do think about using 2 or 3 times a week at night ? Understand this could take 6 months or longer to heal if does completely. Always try natural first or use in combo with drugs. Don't know how happen, best come up with thru alot talks is somehow may gotten absess on upper lip(not from bug biting inside mouth pretty sure) and she 10 months old and sometimes does some leaps in her 40 breeder so may have pop it that way. When it appear it grew fast into like hole on upper lip, at first thouht parasite but test poo sample appox. 10 days after first saw and was negative, did this right away cause saw little blood in poo when walk away, now think that was just scratch cause went away appox. week later. Use ceramic tiles with one piece wood and with this build 2 basking spots appox. 5 inch high with my 10.0 from Zoo med (no sand). Cost Vet. around here is like WOW, Nature Zone had similar product and was less than half price but after some research thouht this was worth extra even though hurting with money ( one exam. and poo test $140 ).

Bye,
Scott

I hate to hear when people's beardies die I know its like a family member after a while they really bond with you, My condolences to you.

I have been using reptaid for 3 days now after a Panacur treatment she isn't eating at all and hasn't for a long time now so I am hoping this does its magic or I really don't know what I will do

I had ordered reptaid before even seeing this thread. I have read it from the beginning and recognise that it isn't a miracle cure for all but I am willing to give it a go as my Brindi barely eats except for a small amount of babyfood hand fed. Her setup i spot on and she is bathed almost every day so there will be no other changes except the reptaid. She has turned her nose up at all live feeders (and cost me a lot of money in the process) and has never been a big veg eater to start with. I am hoping that reptaid will at least stimulate her appetite a little. I will try and remember to post my findings. It hasn't arrived yet, but I intend to weigh her and measure her length and take a photo of her immediately before the first dose and then keep a record of the ongoing details for as long as needs be. If I change anything in her viv or routine I will make a note of this also. :)

Got the Reptaid 4 days ago.

Day 1: she appeared dark in color, ate a few crickets and green, nothing too crazy
Day 2: she was hiding when I returned home from work, cool to the touch, ate only greens (wasnt interested in her feeders)
Day 3: I came home, she was slightly basking, color looked good but still slightly dingy. I gave her a bath and fed her 40+ crickets! that was the most I have ever seen her eat
Day 4: today I arrived home, Stella was basking fully and gaping, not one stress mark in sight. She had about 30 crickets, gobbled em up! She is soaking now.

The first few days were kinda un-nerving. She seemed to be going downhill. But now she is doing great. I hope it is not a coincidence, but I look forward to seeing how she may improve in the next few days. I plan on giving 2 10-day cycles since her poo is still kinda smelly.

Heres a pic I took, she looks good for being in shed. doesnt seem to even be phasing her!

Sounds like things are going well for you michigan :) I am only on day two and Brindi's colour looks brighter (but am not sure if that is wishful thinking or not.) I was better at giving her the reptaid today so am feeling more confident about it. She ate quite a bit of babyfood today but it was hard to judge how much as it becomes quite a messy business. I am just pleased that she is eating as she didnt want to yesterday or the day before.

I just found out that Scott's (Lk4sturns) beardie died. :(

Just a prime example of why, though a great additive to boost an animal that has slowed a tad, this is no "magic cure all"

No matter what you see advertised if there are issues like MBD, Mouth Rot, Bone Disease, organ failure, ETC. The animal needs a vet not an herbal remedy that you can not garuntee will work 100% of the time.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
