Regurgitating... Is he just overeating?

Some related husbandry info:

9 year old beardie boy
4'x2' enclosure
160w Megaray for UVB and heat, 3 months old and tested with a Solarmeter
100-102 hot side, 84-85 cool, tested with a heat gun

I feed him after around 10 or 11 so he has time to warm up and time to digest after.
He eats salad and small-med dubia roaches, usually 6-7 at a time

He's thrown up maybe 4 or 5 times in the past 3 months? Usually he throws up a few half-digested roaches but the other day he threw up some salad which is new.

I know he has no blockages because he's still defecating (frequently and in great quantity... -_- ) It's a bit watery but I attribute that to how much salad he eats.

He's as active as he usually is, and continues to have a great appetite. Aside from occasionally hurling, he's acting pretty normal?

This is totally new, even though nothing about his diet has changed. My leopard geckos eat the same roaches with no problem. Maybe he's eating too much, too fast? I dunno.

It's been a while since he had a fecal done but it was clear. I'll get another done just in case, so is there anything I should keep an eye out for?

Thanks!

Hi there....sounds like you're taking very good care of this old boy. :) Nine yrs. is getting up there ! Well, if absolutely nothing has changed it may just be that he's getting older and his system is changing slightly. You might try lowering the " cool " temp. to 80 -82 . Be sure to only offer softer dubias [ you probably do ] so there's no chance of possible stomach upset from hard parts of the bug. It may be, too that he's having slight liver problems, though I see that as a small chance. Some owners buy milk thistle to help with liver function..... one of the mods. here might sell it . Try p.m'ing Drache613 [ Tracie ] to see if she has it, and she can help with dosing as well. Hopefully it's something minor, just on + off tummy upset.

thanks! :)

Hmm about lowering the temp... Problem is his only heat source is the MVB so I can't use a dimmer on it or anything. :T I haven't seen him hanging out at the cool end of the viv or gaping to show he's too hot either. I'll see about installing a small fan outside one of the vents maybe to get some cooler air blowing in, maybe?

I'll ask the vet about liver function and see if they can't do some blood work.

You're welcome ! I kind of doubt it's really temp. related, if he's been at those temps. for years. Just be sure it's not any higher than what it is, it should be fine. If you have a good vet, getting bloodwork may help you out to see if anything is off. You might also try some raw honey....just a drop on his food. It's good for many things and contains anti inflammatory properties as well as being a natural antibacterial/antibiotic.But just a drop, since it is high sugar.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
