Hi,

I just switched over to mercury vapor bulbs but this weird thing happens. I turned it on for about 30 minutes then I turned it off. When I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't turn on. I thought it burned out on the very first try... 30 minutse later, I tried to turn it on and it works again. Is this common?

i actually have a mvb, that will turn itself on and off. its not attached to a thermostat or anything, when it reaches a certain temp it will automatically turn itself off... maybe thats what happening with yours? the other day my power went out and came right back on, but the light didnt come back on for a good few mins... so it may be common

It's normal :) MVB's take a few minutes (anywhere from 5-20) to turn on again after they've been turned off.

yep it's normal~ mine does that too~ it's very annoying sometimes since if I accidently closed it and have to go out~ I have to wait for 15 mins before I could turn it back on~ "BEFORE" I could leave the house~ especially if I'm in a rush to work~ I'll be mad~ haha~

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
