reflection stress?

my juvenile beardie has been chasing its reflection a lot the past two days....now today its doing the submissive arm wave a LOT

my adult chases her reflection every now and then, but never like this....obviously my baby feels threatened or something if its arm waving right? should i cover 3 walls of the tank with aquarium paper or something? or will it be fine how it is

Covering it will help a lot. It thinks there is something else in there and is stressing about it.

ok thanks, i will get something to cover it tomorrow after work....i wasnt sure if it would matter since the front wont be covered, but i suppose 3/4 is better than 0/4 walls covered lol....ive seen a lot of people say its normal to chase reflections, but ive never seen arm waving and stuff mentioned

i had to cover the 3 walls of tolkiens aquarium, he flips if he sees his own reflection. i don't know why, but it helps. agreed, the one still gives off a reflection, but he doesnt seem to care that much now that the others are covered. he has even seen his own reflection in my glasses!!! he started head-bobbing at me and black-bearded! he's such a manly beardie lol he seems to be chilling out more lately, they seem to do that as they age. it's another of those lovely bearded dragon behaviors/characteristics that make them so unique and loveable!!

i think your little one will eventually calm down as it ages, just enjoy your time watching him grow and all the little quirks that come with beardie ownership

i put paper in and my beardie just doesnt seem right today....she has just layed there all day, hasnt moved at all really...didnt eat any greens today....she was active in her feeding container chasing crickets, but thats about it....i think maybe shes going through some stress from her enclosure being different now or something...i think ill skip her bath tonight and leave her be to relax

that or shes upset i took her hide away...but she was just laying it and never coming out, so i had to take it away so she can get uvb

she's just adapting to the new walls you put up for her!

it took tolkien a day, and he was more relaxed and used to his home.

she'll come around and be herself!!

shes been stressed too with me getting her out every day and inspection her all over...monitoring that yellow skin...im glad to say most of it is gone now, it appears to all be shedding off...poor girl, that pet store treated her horribly....it looked like she had a sore too, it was all brown and nasty looking, but it shed off also which was a relief

but im gonna leave her be for a couple days except to clean her tank...shes been eating well and pooping daily, so i cant say too much...and while she was laying around all day at least it was in a spot where she could keep her temps up above 100 degrees...she was in the shade though kinda, so not much if any uvb...still getting it worked out...shes been a little trooper lol...had her for 5 days and shes already had 4 baths, a trip to the vet, 3 viv changes, a new feed box...etc...going to try and give her some space lol

yay she just ate some greens...theyre left over from last night so theyre all dried up though...hadnt put fresh in either cage yet today...excited though, since she hasnt eaten any since i put the paper up in her tank....shes had a stressful week...especially me trying to restrain her and move her legs around and stuff to get the lamisil in her arm pits and neck etc
