Does anyone use red worms? I'm sick of crickets and want to try something different. My beardie is about 3 months old. Or is there any other type of insects that would be good I just really don't want to use roaches they give me goose bumps.

you could try silk worms, and phoenix worms as a staple. the down side to those are they are kinda pricy and silks are decently fragile.

Supers are to big for your dragon right now, butters and wax worms are more of a treat.

I haven't heard of red worms, and i havent tried them.

if you keep the cricket container as clean as possible, the smell will be kept down, if it gets dirty like mine is, it smells horrendous.

If the red worms are the ones I am thinking of, then I would avoid feeding them. They are similar to nightcrawlers and live in moist damp soil I believe, and have the potential to be loaded with parasites which could possibly transfer to your beardie and cause a lot of problems.

He is right. Red wigglers actually are known to be loaded with parasites.

There is a company in New York that sells parasite-free red wigglers. I think I may try them out. Their prices are resonable.
Roaches creep me out as well, iLoveMyFelix, and my mother has vehemently refused to allow me to keep them. Phoenix worms are way too pricey for a high school student so i'm going to try the red wigglers. I think it really depends on how you keep them.

Wouldn't ANY company say their product is parasite free so they can make sales?

Why not try superworms? You can get 500 for like 10 bucks and they last quite a long time. We should really think about how our dragon will get the most nutrients because their health is in our hands~

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
