Reasons for Waving?

We have 3 beardies; 2 males Yoshi and Grendel and a female Aurora. Yoshi and Aurora's tanks are in the living room and Grendel's is in our bedroom. As far as size goes, Grendel is the biggest with Aurora being the smallest. Earlier we got Grendel out to spend some time with him and took him in the living room. He spent most of the time sitting on my husband's lap looking at him play his PSP. Then all of a sudden he looks over and sees Aurora and starts a hand save. He didn't blackbeard, head bob or even get stress marks. He waved a few times, stopped then a little later did a few more times and that was it.

From my understanding, I thought that beardies waved to show submission, females do this during mating and beardies will also wave express they are a beardie and don't want to be in danger.

The thing that is confusing to us is that Aurora was on her tree facing away from us and Grendel. And Yoshi never seemed to look over and see Grendel.

So we are just wondering why Grendel would have been waving at what seemed like our female beardie, Aurora, who is quite smaller than him?

They will wave for diferent reasons, not all of them are known.
Some people say that beardys wave to show subbmision, but mine has waved at his crickets so its hard to tell.

similar thing happened with me, I had A small baby who just died today . But about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I would fill his water dish that day, and when he walked over to the dish to get some water, he gave me eye contact and appeared to be waving at me. he did this for a few days and then later had just continued to drink it regularly without waving anymore. I used to read up on waving on the internet alot when I had my first beardies. I read and cross referenced and found that they dont even wave in specific patterns when they wave for different reasons, even if they are unknown. Ive seen my first beardie wave at a wall before, so I (and scientists well) don't know what the communication could have been in that occasion.
