What could some reasons for a dragons reduced appetite be? I have had my girl for about 5 months now, I am not to sure her age, last time I measured her which was not to long ago she was 14 inches long. Lately her appetite has gone down a lot. She will eat her morning meal of crickets and then will skip the rest of her crickets for the day, and will just snack on her veggies through out the day.
Nothing has changed in her environment. She is in a 40gal tank, have 2 UVB Reptisun 10.0 bulbs, one on each side of the tank to cover the entire tank. Her basking area ranges between 97 and 105 degrees and the other end of her cage is usually around 85ish. I measure these with a infrared thermometer. The bottom of her cage is felt also.
I take her out every day. When she is in her cage she is not very active besides the occasional glass surfing. When she is out she will just chill on me for about 20-30 mins or so and then she will start running around. She still has her regular poops. I ran my finger down her underside just to check for impaction, or eggs just in case and did not find any bumps.
She has been occasionally having her beard black while in the cage and then the black will go away almost immediately after picking her up. Could this just mean I need to take her out more than what I have been? She gets out for about 30 mins to an hour each time I take her out. I usually keep her out until she starts showing she is getting cold.
