I was wondering what a reasonable rescued beardie adoption fee would be? A breeder friend gave me a male that was given back to him, badly malnourished by his prior owners. He couldn't have been more than 2 days from death, when I put him in the tub, he was taking bites of water. He was so dirty too.
Well he is looking so much healthier, has gained at least 200 grams or more and has gotten big and healthy enough to shed.
I have had him for 3 1/2 months
And he is finally really showing his tangerine and yellow color, and with 22 eggs in the incubator it's time to find him his forever home. So what is the going adoption fee for such a beardie, my concern is making him too cheap more easily puts him in the wrong hands, I was thinking $150. I'm thinking that someone who will pay that will more than likley appreciate him for what he is
(Feisty yet friendly guy) more of a 1 person dragon as opposed to family guy. Does this sound reasonable?

Forgot to mention , this is not an ad, Buddy will be rehomed via reptile show!

Keep in mind an adoption fee is meant to be an affordable fee to cover min costs of upkeep.
150 is a sale of a healthy dragon.
This is only my opinion, but If i read an add asking 150 as an adoption fee, I feel like the seller is trying to take people for an *****.
50 to 75 dollars tops is what I would call an adoption fee.

Very good point Tom, I think perhaps I'll write 100 on him ,(he comes with his faux rock hide) and if the right person offers 75 let him go, I just want to be confident he goes to a good home. I will be sad to see him go, perrhaps a show rugular will want him and bring him back for me to see.

Well, to update a little girl fell in love with Buddy today, she had grown tired of her corn, and about fainted when I told her I'd be willing to trade with her.
This rescue stuff is tough, I was quite a bit more attached to him than I realized and almost cried when I was packing him up. At least I know he will be heavily loved by that little girl, and I was watching them walk around the show and Buddy was snuggled up to her neck, seems he is already attached to her. Chalk up another beardie saved!

To update, I stopped by the show today to pick up feeders and stuff and bumped into Lauren, Buddy's new human.
She said he is doing great, and spends a lot of time with him and is thrilled that she has a bath trained lizard.
She spends so much time with him that she got into a little trouble and she is grounded from playing with him and can only provide nesecary maintenence.
I didn't set up at any shows this month, we needed a break, but Lauren is bringing Buddy to visit me at the show next month when we get back at it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
