Reaction to Night Light

Hey guys I just bought a ZooMed Infrared Night Light Red Bulb 60w for Cleo to keep her a little more warm and for my viewing pleasure in the evening. As soon as her day lights went off and her night light came on she started to freak out.

So if you guys know why she is behaving like this please let me know!

I did in fact turn the light off and she went straight to sleep.

And for the the people who want to ream me for the sand substrate, it is boiled play sand, no chemicals or any other harmful thing was added to it.

Hi. Beardies need complete darkness to sleep. Those red lights are not good for beardies. If your house does not get below 65 then he should be fine. If it does get colder then a ceremic heat emitter is what you want. It puts off heat and no light.

That light is really bright - dragons can see red just fine so it probably looks weird to her and her behavior looks like she is trying to get out of the cage. Its possible that she is scared by the light color, or trying to get out to somewhere dark enough to sleep.

As destiny said, they can take a decent night drop in temp and be fine.
