We brought Batman home when he was just two weeks old and today he is 10 weeks old and 10.5 inches! His tail started to shed again today...I think he's going to be a big guy :)

First night home: Keegan (my 3 year old human) and Batman!

He did this a lot at first. A little wave :)

Oh! Sorry, a toque is a type of hat.

It's a canadian thing. I think it's also called a beanie? This one is Thesh's:

It's double sided, so I have both sides pulled out and she sleeps on it.

They're super comfy and great for winter here, but also make great Beardie snugglies.

Jolene:

Totally understand how and why the simplicity makes sense. Believe me, I even started a thread WAY back in Behavior about how I had removed all but his basking spot. He was MISERABLE. Seemed bored out of his mind and was glass dancing constantly to get out. We slowly started adding pieces back in and he was happy again. Running around, climbing. Now, if I take anything out he seriously pouts and lays around :( I DID move that darn stick and within seconds of bringing his dubia, he devoured 10, climbed back onto THE STICK and all was right in his world.

Diane, thank you for going into so much more detail about these new patterns. It really helps us being prepared. I'm understanding his changes better since we've talked. Ummmm...he's a Hailey right now. Haha!

Esther, I too want to know what that is...so do tell us, Jolene!

So Batty is now bratty, all part of being a Juvie, glad you moved his stick to the basking spot, they don't like change much, I've noticed. When I clean up in any of their tanks, they watch everything I do & when I return their furniture they watch very carefully to make sure it's all in the RIGHT place, then lick everything to make double sure. They're all so funny and mine are all adults!

You have to take the changes as they come, as he's not going to change. He'll challenge you with different things all the time. It's a funny time in their lives but as Diane said, doesn't last long. He's already 1/2 way to being an adult. The times just flies, doesn't it!

And for the nail cutting, it took me 3 years before I got the nerve to actually do it. Before that it was the vet who cut them, but once I got it down, it's not difficult now. I can clip their nails while they're awake without any issues.

Oh this boy is making me crazy...never has he been so assertive or stubborn! He's not being "fresh" or anything as far as biting or being aggressive, he's just doing what he wants and making ME work around him. I didn't expect that!

Honestly, he chose a flippin stick to hang from all day yesterday and not eat. I take the suggestions and move said stick so he can bask on it and he eats like champ. Almost like "haha!" he got me?

I can't even wrap my brain around the half way to adulthood, that's just crazy. I'm feeling confident in trimming the nails...well confident in Jeremy trimming them ;) hehe!

Welcome to beardie adolescence! It will drive you nuts on a daily basis. But then he'll be an adult, or a sub-adult. They're not really full grown until they're 2 years old. I always thought the juvie part was fun, even if a bit frustrating. When Rubio discovered he could make a black beard, he tried to see it by crossing his eyes and fell off his log  I just happened to be watching him & he scrambled to fast to get back on it; if a beardie could blush, he blushed  It was just hilarious, especially because he made that black beard as often as he could, which was most of the time he was awake

Oh my goodness!!! It's hilarious how they get embarrassed and SO obvious!! HAHAHA! I have seen Batman do some "stunts" and not quite "land" them properly...the look on his face and the scrambling he did!! WAY TOO FUNNY    Awwwww....I miss him so much! I can't wait to get out of here and get home. 20 more minutes...though I'm sure either Flash or Vraska will be out when I get home.

I might have to wait until after Hailey's voice lessons tonight to snuggle my little brat

They're wonderful!!! Vraska came to us super sweet and calm which is awesome! Flash...he GETS calm...just takes some running him down to get there ;) He's very sweet too, though. Not a bite from either of them. One nip once when Jeremy startled Flash on his first day here but, other than that they have NEVER made an attempt at biting or shown ANY aggression. Trust me, my kids wouldn't be handling them if I though they'd ever bite.

Me...I'm a little different. Though I know my above statement is true...I fear that I'm the ONLY person they'd like to bite

Flash being "flashy" and wild before dinner:

Sorry but I haven't experience a better feeling that this brings me since my own children were babies. He snuggled right up and crashed. I just let him sleep on me for an hour thinking about how much I truly love this guy. This reptile I had a hard time deciding on, getting comfortable with. He's a love I've never known all in himself. (Had to play with the colors because it was so dark):

I never imagined feeling this way about a reptile. Ever. He's my baby through and through. I can't even describe it.

I love the beardie cuddles...Thresh gets to come out at 9, when her lights go out. Sometimes she's on me until midnight and is out like a light the entire time. Very sweet...and I couldn't imagine having anything else like her in my life right now.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
