Raleigh NC reptile show :(

So, I went today and was so sad because they were selling bearded dragons out of deli containers. The dragons were all scratching and begging to be let out. Even the large ones were in like...cake containers or something, very contained, no heat, cold building. totally depressing. Mostly all of them were on sand. The babies were all FREEZING and sooo tiny.

I'll never waste my money again, I paid 9 dollars to see miserable lizards. That was HORRIBLE.

Carolina Classic Dragons (if I remember correctly) were awesome though. Healthy, warm and seemingly happy.

And no hedgehogs. I really wanted to talk to someone about hedgehogs - but that's another discussion board I know.

so all in all...

FAIL!

I used to go to the Raleigh one, but it is always so crowded and people are so rude that I just stopped going. It was frustrating.

very similar experience in omaha a couple weeks ago. at least i only had to waste $5 to see it.

That's really sad.
I don't know what ppl like that think when they put their animals in less than mediocre setups. I wouldn't buy a single animal from a breeder/dealer like that, even if it's a "****-fly".

We went to the reptile show in Hamburg, PA this weekend and it was the same for some of the vendors. Just all stacked up in small deli containers. One vendor had a full grown beardie in an acrylic 9"x9" box all uncomfortable! It hurt my heart to see it like that!!!!!

Two (out of the 100+ that were there) had all their beardies in large rubbermaid containers where they could run around and had heat and UVB lamps. :mrgreen:
