G'day mate,

Those things are no good as they take up too much room in an enclosure. The wirings for those are meant to be hidden in your roof so if you install them in yor enclosure all the wiring will be axposed at the top which maybe a bit dangerous. The best thing is to find a metal flood light mount like the ones for security lights but without the sensor on them. You may find them at Bunnings but you need the metal ones, Light up or Spot light may have them as well. Make sure it's the metal ones the plastic ones will mealt if you use an MVB. Alternatively you could use a ceramic flange mount for them. You don't need that fancy stuff it's just more expensive. You can order the mounts online at ultimatereptilesupplies.com they have an online store just google them or animalattraction.com their in Laverton if your in VIC or the Herpshop.com is another good source for herpetological equipment in Australia.

Cheers mate,

Thanks for the reply.

I saw those metal flood light things at bunnings, they did have them without the sensor too, and were only like 15$ or something.

Ill probaly end up buying one of them (making sure its metal of course) and use a Megaray in it.
but as ive made an enclosure thats only 18inch high, i dont think i will be able to get a Megaray just yet.
I'm most likely gonna get a juvi so ill upgrade to a larger tank when he/she grows up, and then ill prbly order myself a megaray.

the flood lights from bunnings will do the trick? just making sure the temps are right though..

Yeh im from melbourne, i was checking out animalattractions website.. seems pretty pricey to me.. same goes with living jungle.. id rather order off the net, then buy from those places.. lol

where bouts in melb are you from dude?

G'day mate,

I'm in Sunshine, If your enclosure is only 18" high then you could put on the ceramic light flange, their only $8 bucks.

Here's my set up with the metal flood mount for my MVB to give you an Idea, if you use the ceramic flange it won't hang as low.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
