Heya guys n' gals.

I have recently switched Izzy onto Dubai roaches (taken him off crickets) so i have a couple of quick questions:

1)I know that dubais are relatively hard (chitanous) so could cause impactions? I'm not feeding him anything bigger than the gap between his eyes. Just offering him 2-3 roaches a day (he's been off his food of late and is loving these dubais). He's just eaten 4 medium/small dubais and im so glad he's eating again (those of you who have seen my previous posts in health section will be familiar with me situation:).

2) WIth regards to calcium and d3 dusting, is it the same as with crickets? 4/5 times a week with calcium and 2-3 times a week with the calcium d3 balancer? i dont know the difference protien and goodness wise between crickets and dubais.

3) He's 16-18months old and 19" long and has just had a small shedding around the face, he's been off his food for weeks now so im happy he's eeating, but at this age should i limit how many dubais i feed him a day? the reason i ask is he seems not to like salad that much and will only eat it when he feels like it (i feed my roaches/crickets on salad stuffs to make sure he at least gets some of the nutrients all be it second hand, is this ok?)

Thanks in advance, any and all help welcomed :)

He is at the age where he should be switching to more greens than live prey, but they usually tend to make the switch on their own. 3-4 roaches a day isn't a lot, so I would continue to give him that amount. Does he eat greens at all? Sometimes to get them to eat their greens we have to play tough and let th get hungry enough to eat them. Comtinue offering the greens everyday, if he doesn't touch them at all, I would try not offering any roaches for a day to see if he eats them.
In regards to calcium and vitamins, at his age you could drop down to 3-4x a week with calcium and 1x a week with vitamins.
As long as the roaches are the appropriate size for him, they will not impact him. They have more protein than crickets, but you still dust the same as you would with crix.

Have you tried different greens with a variety mixed in? Mine wouldn't eat their greens until I started mixing them with something to add a little color. Red bell pepper, squash, berries...anything. Just try a different mixture until you find one he likes. When he gets hungry enough he will eat them, but he's definetly at the age where he should be eating them more. The mixture I found mine to love so much he'd eat the whole bowl at 4 months old is dandelion greens with yellow squash.
Try not giving roaches for a day or two to try to get him to eat some greens. He may suprise himself and really like them.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
