How often do water crystals need to be replaced?

when they evaporate or when they turn color from all the frask. my guys will go threw it everyday but i would say at least once a week

Thanks for answering my question roachguy. Reason I asked was because Im gonna be buying that big pound of water crstals you got on your site and your 55 dollar kit.

Yeah, what Jason said above.

Basically when you first start your colony, evaporation is going to be the culprit to require replacement. Tip, add water straight to the dish with the crystals, helps to keep them hydrated as long as possible. Then at one point, they will get discolored by the poo more ofter then evaporating. Then you get to a point where you add more water and new crystals to the same dish but they are consumed really quickly so replacement isn't as often. Then you get to Jason's point and they eat them all up in one day and you are constantly replacing them or using much larger dishes. I have a colony of another species that I can't keep the crystals in. I really gotta move to larger dishes now. heh
