Quick lighting question.

I am wondering if my Zilla Slimline Desert 50 UVB T8 Fluorescent Fixture will hold a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Bulb. Under normal circumstances, I would just assume that since the both bulb sizes read as 18" that it will fit, but I just wanted to check with you guys as well as see if it will still function fully using a Zilla fixture. Our beardie's appetite has been decreasing and I've been wondering if the light has something to do with it since Zilla has such a bad rep on these forums. I know part of it has to do with trouble staying hydrated as we seem to have not fully addressed the amount of attention we need to give our little Pheonix to make sure he/she is getting the water needed.

But regardless, answers on the light: can I purchase the ReptiSun 18" bulb and it be able to fit and function properly in the place of our current 18" bulb in the Zilla fixture?

Yes. I made the mistake of purchasing a Zilla fixture and bulb when I first started out as well. I went back and bought the Reptisun 10, praying it would fit, and it did! I still use it in one of my smaller tanks! It has a reflection plate thingy on it too that magnifies the UVB, just make sure to remove the cover!

The boyfriend removed the cover off of the Zilla light a while back and I didn't ask questions but I assumed it was for a reason so now I know haha. Alright, well I shall go through with purchasing the bulb now then so we can get it in as soon as possible to avoid any problems. Thank you.
