QUICK & EASY "ROACH HOTELS" - with pics

I like the toilet paper tube idea. I have been battling the decision to start a roach colony because I have a very intense fear of roaches. I am still working on finding my big girl panties so I can get over it, but I like the idea of not having to touch them. This would be nice and easy to clean as well. I ALSO think that this would work for crickets which is what I use now. I hate the beasts, but they don't wig me out like roaches do...but still, most of the posts on this site make me feel like a bad owner for not feeding roaches!

Don't feel like a bad owner! I'm trying to get over my fear of roaches, too. I have a few that I'm trying to feed him, but it's getting over the ick. Have you seen the video posted on the thread I started, "getting over the "eww" of dubia? The glass bowl looks nifty. I found one at goodwill last night and offered his crickets in it. He seemed not interested, but I also thought something new might take a bit to get used to.

Thanks, I have read that feed, but not seen the video. I watched one video of roaches to try and condition myself, but I nearly had a panic attack when one crawled on the person's arm...so I am giving it a few days, lol. I will check it out, a glass bowl to scoop the creepies in would prevent them from touching me! *GACK*

I also quite like the setup with the rolls, but this is what the roach breeder I bought from suggested:

Yeah... Yoshi will never eat roaches either. I'm terrified of bugs and spiders as it is so he's lucky I'm ok with little crickets. :lol:

Question to wckdbtch

I love your set up. I do have a couple of questions.
Can I assume that you have screen glued to the large holes on the side of your tub.
What do you put the food in? A bowl type thing or just on the floor.
In the two white bowls, what is the brown stuff - looks like rocks.
I think the white stuff is the water gels before adding water.
