I have a 2 year old; 20 inch long beardie and have a pet shop wanting to breed him. I was wondering if my 2 year old beardie is at any risk? Also I was wondering a general charge for a "stud fee" for a dragon his size?

There is always some risk when you put 2 dragons together, but if its a normal breeding the risks are minimal. (at least to someone that knows what they are doing)
I have never run across a stud fee for a male dragon. Consider yourself lucky if you get a couple of the babys from the clutch.
The risk and any related health problems are on the female till she is done cycling out 1 to 5 clutch's of eggs.

Ok I assumed that there were risks of biting or injury from the female, but didn't know if there was any risk with the actual act of breeding. I didn't think so, b'c I work at a vet clinic and know there isn't much risk for a male dog to get a female pregnant. What is the procedure for breeding a dragon? Does he have to stay for a few days with the female or just enough to get the job done (which takes how long?).

You might be concerned about what parasites or stuff the pet store dragon may or may not be carrying or incubating in their enclosure at the store.

How did this arrangement come about?

I'd be worried about the future babies. If the pet store wants to breed, they should probably get their own breeding pair. If they don't care enough to get a pair with known (and good) genetics, they probably don't care enough to make sure the babies are cared for properly.

Personally, I would never stud out my male to a pet store because of ethical issues. The pet store probably is in it for the money and just doesn't want to pay a breeder for baby dragons that are healthy, well-started and of good genetic lines. They may sell the babies before they're old enough, and they might not feed them or care for them properly.

Came about by me taking Drake in. They mentioned breeding him with their females b/c he is 20 inches. They are a very good pet store. Take very good care of their animals, but still try to save money where ever they can. I dont think they have a problem finding a breeding male and know they have 2 females and 1 male that are kept in the back. I think they were just impressed at Drake's size.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
