Questions on feeding for my juvenile dragon

Hello.

My dragon is about 3 months old. He went from about 6 inches to over a foot since I got him 2 months ago.

As of now I feed him: 3-5 baby kale leaves a day, 5 large super worms a day or 15ish large meal worms a day, 30ish medium crickets a week, 2-3 wax worms a week( after his baths or for treats ). He occasionally will eat a very small amount of butternut squash, watermelon, or carrot.

I read online that there are better feeder insects than crickets, and that super worms can block juvenile bearded dragons' digestive systems. So I wanted to make the switch to just large meal worms and dubai roaches. How many of these roaches should I feed him a day? Also how large should these roaches be? 1/4'', 1/2'', 3/4'', 1'', or larger?

Where do you purchase your dubai roaches? Petco, etc., does not carry them.

Any other feeding suggestions/tips are appreciated Thanks! I will also answer any questions.

Hi. Yeah superworms really shouldn't be fed to beardies under 16 inches. Mealworms are not good either as those are hard to digest. Dubia you will probably have to order or go on Craigslist and see if anyone is selling them. Other good feeders are Phoenix worms, silk worms and butter worms. Also here is a site most of us go by beautifuldragons.com. That'll tell you what kind of veggies and fruit to feed.

I order my dubia roaches online from breeders. Both of mine are over 13" in length and are eating 1/2" - 3/4" nymphs right now (Nero has a big head! :lol: ), if that helps you.
