Questions of a new owner

hello everyone I basically just bought a bearded dragon from someone on Craigslist. He is in perfect shape but according to some research I did on the internet he is being fed too much. Previously he has been fed animal protein in the morning (around 12 crickets), then vegetables during the afternoon, and then 12 more crickets at night. According to the internet the diet should be something more like vegetables early in the morning and then at somewhere between 4 I can give him animal protein once (around 12 crickets). If I was to shift him diet from one day to another would the beardie be stressed and not eat or would he not even noticed and should I even change his diet. In addition to this, does a beardie 1 year and 7 months old get stressed when he moves to a new family and if he does how should I help him adapt to the new people around him.

Welcome to your wonderful beardie journey!!! At that age the diet should be 80% greens and 20% live protein. You'll have to search around but there is a wealth of information out there now compared to just almost 2 years ago when I entered this journey! They are such wonderful companions, hope you enjoy . Be sure to have the heat and light right, it's crucial as is dusting with calcium. I offer greens once she's been up a couple of hours, clean water daily ( she doesn't drink often but that's ok, you'll notice white in stool is the urine) protein (dubia roaches, crickets, sometimes superworms but dubias are healthiest option... superworms and hornworms are more of a junk food snack once in a while...fruit is also once in a while...lots of great lists online!
