I've posted once or twice here before, but I forgot my username and password!
I don't have a Beardie yet, I'm still doing my research (sorta restarting it actually... My computer crashed and I lost all the info I compiled
). I recently started looking more into silkworms. I have several questions, so bear with me!
My first question is, how long would 100-250 silkworms last when feeding a juvenile or adult?
How long does it roughly take to start a colony? Would I buy silkworms AND eggs?
What do you do to clean the container? Does it make sense to move them between two containers (put them into a cleaner one, clean the old one and keep it for next time)? Do I have to separate them (eggs, moth worms?)
How much silkworm food do you go through? How much does it cost you (approx.) per month?
Would you recommend starting the colony BEFORE getting the Dragon? How long before?
Are silkworms okay for babies, as long as the space between the eyes rule is followed?
Now about calcium supplementation...
Do you use it with D3? I recently read that Bearded Dragons aren't really able to get any from food... So should a non-D3 calcium supplementation be alright since the Dragon has a UVB light? What do you use? What do you think of the calcium sprays? Are they better, worse or the same as the powder?
