I am going to build a 4x2x2 enclosure for my baby. And I was wondering what length of a flourescent light do I need to have. I heard that it needs to be the length of the enclosure which would be 48" long or will 36" long be fine?
You shouldnt need another tube bulb, just the Reptisun and a basking light should be fine, unless it is too cool or dark in any area, then you may have to add more light.
Thanks a bunch ... I currently have my baby in a 20gallon long tank, but I have plans to build her a 4x2x2 and she has a 18" Zoo Med Repti-Sun 10.0 UVB light and I use a 50W Halogen flood light from Wal-Mart for basking and that keeps her basking spot between 100-110 degrees. So I am thinking when I build the bigger viv, to get another 18" so that the UVB runs the length of the enclosure, from my research, I believe that is what I should do.
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
