Was reading about pheonix worms and how they are a great source of calcium, compared to crickets they seem to be a much better feeder, with only a little bit more fat content.

was wondering if anyone has made PW's their beardies staple feeder (not including salad)

Well, I've had my beardie almost 2 weeks and I give him salad daily although he just started to finally eat it in the past 2 days... but I have been feeding crickets and they totally smell and freak my cats out so I placed an order on Thursday of last week w/ Pheonixworms.com and I'm hoping Falkor likes them enough that I can toss the idea of ever having to use crickets again. Some people may not agre, but I HATE the crickets... :?:

thats the problem i have had, i always hated feeding my lizards crickets, they always escaped sooner or later. the pheonix worms seem like a great alternative, dont have to spend extra money for calcium dust, they dont stink, dont escape, and dont make noise....all im worried about is if its healthy to be used as a staple, as far as i can see they should be, the fat content isnt that much more than a cricket...

Well, I got my PW's in the mail and let me tell you- Falkor LOVES them. They look alittle GROSS, but he eats them up... When he sees me gathering them for him he runs up to the glass ( he didn't do that with crickets, so I feel I made the right choice). Hopefully it all works out- and good luck if you go ahead and do the same thing!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
