Hey guys! I'm not a new bearded dragon owner, however one of my friends is and I've got a question for you.
General info:
She purchased her first bearded dragon on April 30th.
He is about a month and a half old
Around 7 inches long
Currently in a 20 gallon tank
Has a ReptiSUN 10 roughly 5-7 inches away from his basking spot covering a little more than 2/3rds of the cage
His basking spot is 109-112 degrees and is anywhere between 75-80 on the cool side
She feeds him anywhere between 18-25 dubia roaches twice daily as well as gives him greens every day which he started eating recently
She bathes him about 5 days a week
Gives him acidophiliz, vitamins, and liquid calcium every day
Question:
He is stressed inside his cage. When he is out of his cage and she is holding him as well as when he eats/bathes/sleeps he has a relatively white belly for the most part. However when she puts him back into his cage, he gets stress marks. Is there something that y'all would recommend that she does for the little guy? It's been almost three weeks now and he is still not used to his cage. Before she purchased him, he was in a bin with the basking light in the center of the bin and one wire hut thing. There isn't a bunch of stuff in his cage to make it crowded, so I don't believe that is the problem. Any suggestions?
