Question for you breeders

Hello All,
I was just wondering do breeders have any guarantee for getting a parasite free beardie? I know they are usually healthier than say PetSmart or what not just wondering if they have any promise that they will be parasite free when they leave.

To answer the question.Even though I am not a breeder,I know that the breeder I got my 2 dragons from did several tests before shipping each of my beardies to make sure they were parasite free and healthy. I think it is up to the individual breeder and you need to ask your breeder of choice. Breeders:if I am wrong on this please correct me,that way I will know for future reference.

Don't get an attitude sara, it wasn't slang and you know that, no need for the slick remark. You could of said the same statement in other words. It wasn't even that hard to tell what it said....
Regarding the question, I don't think most breeders provide a guarantee, but I'm sure more reputable breeders do check them out before selling them to the customer.

Even with multiple checks, its still almost impossible to gauruntee parasite free.
9 times out of 10 most of the average parasites come from the feeder insects. and are fairly common place.
If I sell a parasite free dragon and 1 week later it test positive for pins there isnt alot I can do.
Gotta love an animal that eats insects....lol

Thanks Tom.I know there are no guarantees,but I do think most reputable breeders,like yourself,try to sell healthy dragons that do not have parasites when sold. Feeders can be a problem. I know ALf was healthy for a long time,the I ordered a round of worms and the next thing I knew Alf had pins.I changed companies that I order my feeders from and have had no more problems so far (thankfully). Sorry if I offended anyone with my statement about the way things are worded.

I might have worded wrong maybe not a guarantee since I see how that could be almost impossible but just measures taken to make sure they are healthy.Tom I am glad to hear you are such a reputable breeder because I have been checking out your site and you aren't too far from me so you were the first I had in mind. I guess I was just wondering what kind of steps are taken I could have said it better. Thank you guys for your replies I am sorry i got back late I couldn't find my post haha.

about the feeders having the parasites. i too believe that. my beardie exotika was parasite free until i saw this crazy deal of 300 superworms for $15 shipped. i jumped on that. about 2 weeks after she finished them off i gave her a fecal float test[did it myself XD], and i detected pins. thats when i heard of reptaid and acidophiliz+. bought some and it helped out alot. i then took her to the vet n she had a minimal ammount compared to when i detected.

ahh so they can get them from superworms then. I have been using reptaid and acidophilitz and I cant say its doing anything at this point I used it after a round of Panacur.

it helps prevent parasites. its nothing like panacur, that gets rid of them. reptaid helps prevent n helps rid of sum, acidophiliz+ is just a digestive tract condition to help their tummy feel better n pass things along alot smoother.
