Hey guys, got a question about my encloser ..
Uhhm, my bearded dragon is a bit of a feisty little girl still, so its kinda hard to get her out all the time for baths, so would it be okay to stick a small container thing in the tank so she could just hop in it or I could move her into it and just change the water every night before I go to bed?

(It would not be deap, infact it would hardly be any at all I just want her to get her stomache abit wet to get some stuff off her stomache)

There a few things you may want to consider before doing this.

1) Sanitary - If your dragon poops and runs through it then later runs through the water dish, do you really want her drinking her own toilet water? This applies to feeders as well. Say you have your water dish and you throw some store bought crickets into the tank, as many of you are probably aware, store bought crickets are usually housed together in cages or containers that are the furthest thing from sanitary. Would you want these running through the water depositing bacteria and the like into the warm water you have provided? (Your tank should be hitting around 110-115 at its hottest spot so even the coldest water placed in the tank will be warm within a short period of time.)

2) Humidity - The water may also cause problems with the humidity of the tank, if the humidity gets too high you can be introducing a whole slew of respiratory problems for your beardie.

3) Substrate - You may run into some obstacles depending on your substrate. If your using sand for you substrate for instance, what do you think will happen when your wet beardie runs across the sand to get to bask? Chances are likely you'll have a beardie that needs another bath to wash the clinging sand from it's body.

In the end, the choice is yours to make but in my opinion you are better off just taking the time to wrangle your bearding to bathe. After some time I promise your beardie will get used to both you and coming out of the tank to bathe which should make things a lot easier. If your not handling your beardie it will see you the same as a wild one would. Good luck with everything! Be sure to let us know what you decide to do! :)

i used to have water in my tank but if your dragon is young like mine it is to risky. i have read stories about beardies that can fall asleep in or near the water and there head can fall under the water without them nowing. i also learned that having water in the tank will raise the humidity of your tank greatly. best bet would be to put the water bowl in there and put him in it while you watch him, them remove it when he is done. if she is not forced to be in the water maybe she will get used to it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
