Not sure if this is the right area to post, sorry if it's not!

I am going to start my project soon for building my own cages, I'm starting with my rabbit's cage first then will do my guinea pigs, then my boy Kaiser's enclosure last so I have time to figure everything out..The dimensions of his cage will be about 48" long x 30" wide x 24" high (I may have to shorten the width to 28").

I was wondering if that is enough space for me to split in half and then put another beardie in?

Now, I am not going to be getting another any time soon most likely, but I would just like to know!If not, I'm keeping his 40g breeder so I'd still have it.I've been trying to ease my mom into the idea of getting another, but am in no rush at all to get one, so he would have all that space to himself for awhile. :p Beardies are seriously like potato chips...can't just have one!I've been wanting another since about a month after I got him...

I wouldn't split it as I dont think it is near enough room for an adult beardie. It would only be like 2 feet by 2.5 feet. That isnt very big

Minimum floor space for 1 adult beardie is 36" x 18"

Recommended floor space is 48" x 18-24"

So for a single bearde your 48" x 28-30" is great.

It's not nearly big enough to split in half though.

Since you're building it yourself, you could consider making
it much taller (like 5 foot tall) and splitting it vertically,
making 2 cages one on top of the other, leaving a foot gap
between them for lighting/heating on the lower cage.

Thank you for the reply Soulwind.

I thought of splitting my building plans to make two stacked cages, but the problem with that is that my room is tiny.I'm already planning to be making three cages stacked(rabbit, guinea pigs, then Kaiser) so it should be about 72 inches high or so with all cages stacked, so making that a bit taller is out of the question since little me is only 5'3" so I already need a step stool to make this big thing.

I MAY be able to rearrange my room once I build these cages to see if I can stack the furries and then next to them or something see if I have enough space to put Kaiser's, then I could make another beardie tank to make it the height you said.It really depends on the space and what all I can get rid of in my room, it should give me a LOT of space making these stacked cages though, so it may be possible. But I'm not sure, since both sets of cages would take up 4 ft in length..Ugh, I wish I had a bigger room. :banghead:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
