Okay, you are all going to think I am mental, but I worry a lot about our dragon Spark (or Sparkle - still can't figure out what sex it is). We lost our first dragon, Ash, on April 3rd, to causes that are undetermined (still haven't gotten the results of the necropsy back) and I don't want to risk losing our new baby.
He (for simplification) is between 4 - 5 months old, (we think) and is eating well, both gut loaded crickets (about 15 - 20 2xday) and silkies (5 - 8 silkworms 2xday). He is handfed squash baby food or cooked squash 2 x day and given a cup of chopped greens (organic spring mix and mustard greens) to munch on whenever he wants. His poops have been very regular and the urates are bright white. The poop is firm but moist and he goes at least once a day up to 4 times a day. The first poop in the morning is always the biggest. It has been dark greenish brown and consistent in color.
Now the question, this morning the poop was a lighter green (could be from the mustard greens since I was out of spring mix yesterday) and seemed to have mucus around it. Is the mucus normal, is my question? It looks similar to the mucus my dogs sometimes have on their poop. Has anyone seen this in a dragon? I just want to make sure there isn't anything going on that I need to be aware of. Spark was vet checked on April 20th and a fecal was done and he was given a clean bill of health.
