Question about poo and fecals

Ok I have an appointment for Angie next week (Thurs) for a general checkup and well being or whatever. I want a fecal done but she doesn't always "Poo on demand" and was wondering - if she poos the day before, can I put that in a baggie and put in fridge until the next day?

The fresher the poop sample the better. I have heard that you can use one that is less than 24 hrs old if kept in the frig.

I have also read that the vet can massage out a sample as well, especially if the beardie hasn't pooped that day yet. Not sure if that's true or a myth though.

Well she's not pooped at all today - a first! I know, no food, no poop - she's had some collard greens and maybe 2 phoenix worms, but that's it.

Have you tried giving her very warm baby food applesauce? That usually works very well. After that, you could follow it up with a heated rice sock or corn bag, that helps move things along too.

No I've not tried that yet but going by store to get some things (baby food chicken, squash, apple sauce and pedialyte). Would I sit her on the heated rice sock or corn bag?

Actually I don't know if she's got anything TO poop since she's not eating much if anything at all.

Kimmie.. I mentioned in your other thread about taking a poo sample with you to the vet. I think she is not pooping, due to not eating.
Are you taking her to a herp vet or one that has dealt with reptiles before? The vet can actually take a sample from Angie at the office using a fecal loop, which is inserted in the vent. It is not the most comfortable procedure for them, but can be done. My vet has done this with my older beardie before. Of course, this vet is also the vet at our local zoo, so he has alot of experience with reptiles.

It is a herp vet! Had to search high & low for one here on the Eastern Shore. I was hoping (or was told) that I could have taken a sample in to my regular vet and they could look at it. But since they don't do herps, they wouldn't! Not sure why, parasites are parasites! I wasn't asking for meds, just a look!

Hopefully they'll be able to do that if she's not gone by then! This puberty thing is driving me
