Question about her hibernating thing.

So my beardy is clearly hibertnatig now and I know its normal. I was just wondering, her cage is very dirty because I hadnt cleaned it before she started. Is it harmful if i were to take her out for a few minutes so I could clean it out? I just would like to get it cleaned for her sake and mine (smelly) but I dont want to mess her up. Thanks!

No problem. I would probably give her a shallow lukewarm bath while the cage got cleaned. Let her drink if needed, and return to a clean cage.

Stay right with her in the bath, but then you can wrap her up in a towel or a pile of blankets and she'll probably nap while you clean!

I haven't had a beardie bruate yet...but to my knowledge they need to be taken out once a week to rehydrate in the bath...just be careful to keep their head above the water

When my adults go down I let them down until they wake up in 6 months! That is what they do in the wild so I try to mimic their natural behavior. Good luck..

i ended up giving her a bath which she didnt look to pleased about haha, she doesnt really like baths that much. but i put her back in and she went right back to sleep so it worked out good. thank you for the help! I hate this time of the year, i know its normal for them to do this but it always makes me worried that something is wrong. Thanks again!

I don't think mine has either.. and he is 4 years old!!! :study:
How are we supposed to know when thats gonna happen? maybe he wants to and I just wake him :shock: :?
