Puffy Eyelid?

I can't tell if my bearded dragon's eyelids are puffy. Both look a little swollen to me (not the eyes just the eyelids). He's very active and eating normally, my temps are dead on also.

The only thing wrong with my setup is I'm using a zilla UVB fixture and bulb (Uvb 50) because I'm waiting for my reptisun 10.0 to arrive (which won't be until friday).

Has this UVB light caused eye damage? Could be be vitamin A deficient? (I heard that causes puffy eyelids). I am buying vitamin supplements today I've only had him for 4 days.

hmmm, i think i have heard that some uvb lights can cause eye problems, but not sure which ones or what the symptoms are. I had a repti-glo and was advised to turn it off until my reptisun arrived (which i did). I think beardies can last a couple of days without uvb if you can get them into real sun.

Not sure if that would work this time of year though. I hope someone with more expertise than me can help you

if it was hurting his eyes and I turned it off would they get better?

Does anyone know how many days he can go without UVB? (He's a baby)

I got a vet appointment for saturday morning, if I left his UVB light off until then would he be ok?

I'm not sure. I know adults are ok for a few days without uvb, but not sure how long babies can cope without it.

He should be o.k. I bet it's the uvb that's causing the eye problems. I've never used the bulb you are now. I've heard so many bad things about the zilla bulbs I'll never try it.

You could certainly see what your lil one is like without the uvb light. His eyelids may calm down after a couple of days if its the uvb that is the problem. Its worth ago as you are taking him to the vets saturday anyway.

Im going out tonight to buy one of the good bulbs, a repitusun 10.0. I'll just return the one I ordered online to the pet store.

One of his eyes is really puffy, moreso than the other one. I hope I didn't damage him I feel terrible, I should have known better than to listen to the *****s at petsmart telling me the bulb was ok

Just make sure that you get a tube not a bulb. reptisun 10 flourescent tube is THE best

yea that's what I'm doing now. I also just realized my measurements were a little off on how close the light was. He has a fake tree that he stands on, and there's a little knob on top of it that's higher than the rest. about 2 inches higher. I remember seeing him once stand on it and stick his face up towards the light. I just propped up the light with some cardboard I cut out to make it 2 inches higher, and also it is blocking the light from shining directly on that highest part of the tree.
