Puffs adventure in Pets-mart

So I decided to take Puff to Petsmart with me. A prity uneventfull thing to do right, wrong. Everything went okay till we got to checkout with our new bulbs. Then a lady saw Puff and about peed hur pants trying to get away from "IT". Wich of corse the checkout ladys noticed and came to see what was going on in there lines. Well the check out ladies all 3 of them LOVE beardies and had never seen one brought in the store so "big" and helthy (Puff is onily a teanager). So now the lines stop becuse there are no checkers to run them. I figure that the pee hur pants lady will calm down and the checkers will stop talking and the lines will stop backing up....wrong again. Now the histarical ladys kid wants to pet the beardie. OMG I thought the lady was going to die. Finily we had the maniger over there to restart the lines and calm the lady down. The kid got to pet the "lizzard" and the mom did not actuly die from the experance. I was starting to lagph at this point. I mean this is Pets-mart you are suposed to bring in your PET. Thankfully Puff kept his head and stayed on my sholder the whole time. I might add the next time I go to the store with Puff Im going to be prepared for aneything!! Awesome story! I love going in their with my beardies!! People just want to stop and pet them all the time! And all their kids as well!! The last time I was in their I sold the lady that worked their a baby!! HAHAHAHA.. She said ummmm yea these baby's don't look good! And I said yeah I no!!!!! Good luck!!

We take one of the older beardies with us im not brave enought to try it with the younger ones just for that reason my older ones seem to handle anything at all. I always warn them they have sharp spots and to becareful other than that pet away.

I love the story. Makes me want to go places w/ my beardie. I have nowhere here that I can really take him. I live in the country in the middle of nowhere. Maybe I will take him to the real estate office to drop off the rent check.....wonder how all the women in there will handle that??? Thanks for sharing your story it was great. Awesome story! I think most people when they here the word reptile they automatically think snake, slimey and poisonous. Beardies are the PERFECT reptile to change their minds. And if they are still afraid, well then that gives all of us Beardie Loving Fanatics a really good laugh!!!

took our crimson red beardie to pet smart today and our local reptile store. we got alot of positive responses. he's a beautiful bright red , except one lady in petsmart , her friend said wow , look do you see that lizard and the lady looked at me and with a snobbish tone of voice said oh, that just grosses me out . not for nothing but that lady was no looker herself ! lol. and the guys at our reptile store thought he was so awesome, it's kind of sad, they deal strictly in reptiles and they're beardies look like crack head beardies, sad to say but they do.when i go in there to buy supplies, they are always telling me oh this bulb is good , these feeders are the best , this that and the other and i always tell them i disagree and they say where are you reading all this ****, it's all bull, but then i walk in with this beautiful , healthy looking dragon , no comparison to thiers...............enough said .

My area has like 90% acceptance for Spike. (Maybe the Bay Area attitude about diversity extends to reptiles?) People have even stopped their cars to see her and talk to me. When I take her into Pet Smart most people like her, but keep an eye out for anyone that looks grossed out and/or afraid. I try to to do the charitable thing by giving them space. I helps if they know that the lizard is not going to be stuck in their face or jump on them. Imagine how you would feel standing in line a the check-out and the guy in front of you had a foot long cricket on his shoulder staring at you with those compound eyes...
