Well, having decided a beardie really appeals to me after being a decade without one, I dived into building a Crossfire type enclosure. With a bit of help from Mrs Draxx, we went with the typical 48x24x24 in 1/2 indoor type plywood. I opted for tube inside the enclosure, but went with two outside, dimmer controlled spots. Here is a picture of it nearing completion.
Having finished basic construction, I dived into foam backgrounding the enclosure. A sheet of 3/4 Lowes foam, a Dremil Trio and lots of foam dust all over and this is what I have so far.. . Having made a foam background and watherfall for a small Firebelly tank using foam and concrete, I opted to use concrete patch in thinned layers and colored with acrylic artist paint. I then painted with an airbrush to get a bit more contrast. Frankly the frog tank came out better, but this background should work.
Once the holidays are over, I will begin the quest for the lil occupant for this palace
