Anyone else's beardie have a hard time shedding patches of scales? The tip of Wiz's nose (about a 1cm patch) won't shed. The dead scales are just building up. We're talking a couple of sheds worth. They're not causing a problem and I'm not worried, but are there any topicals that'll help? I'm sure they itch.

Hi there....yes, it's quite common, especially for adult dragons. You can put a bit of pure aloe gel [ make sure it's aloe only] on it as well as increase the humidity by spritzing him in the tank once or twice a day if the humidity is low, which is often the case during the winter. That can help to loosen sheds. If you use aloe or anything else, use it very sparingly to be sure it doesn't clog the nostrils. I've never had to use anything on my dragons [ except my silkback ] , the sheds on the face/head can take a long time but they always come off.

Thanks. He is pretty close to one of the heater vents... Maybe I'll move his tank away from it, too.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
