Marleigh is an estimated 3 yea old male. He recently was diagnosed with a protozoan overgrowth which suppressed his appetite. He was placed on Metronidazole once weekly for four weeks. His appetite is not back fully, but he’ll eat carnivore critical care from syringe. I’d like to give a probiotic l, but not sure which to give and for how long? He has not been losing weight at any point.
Side note, he still wants to hide most of time, only basks if I place him in his spot and not for long. Stool tests do not indicate coccidia, parasites, etc. basic blood tests look good. I got him as a rescue suspected to have adenovirus, no testing has been done to rule out or confirm. Until this year he has not shown symptoms of the virus being active and I am not certain it is active, just suspicious. What is the safest way to get him to bask without causing too much stress? I’ve considered removing his hide for 1-2 hrs twice per day, is this wise?
