OK, I have a couple questions. do the color of stress marks change as they get older? About a week ago I noticed Norm had very mild stress marks, but instead of the dark color they are light grey with orange in the middle (he is an orange dragon). Is that normal? He started his Panacur paste the next day and baycox yesterday, so I"m hoping the stress marks are just due to him feeling crummy and that they will go away with the parasites. He's never been one to have stress marks...always has a nice, creamy tummy and bright colors. I'm bathing every day while giving medications, usually 3 times a week. He has all the recommended care outlined in this forum...Reptisun 10.0, 101-108 basking temps, etc. It has been pretty hot, so the "cool" side isn't all that cool, so I have been letting him sit in the window in the shade.
OK, so my questions are:
Do stress marks change color? Also, what are those three bumps on his inner thigh? Is that normal?
Is it normal for them to not want to bask/eat as much while on baycox and panacur? I've read it's "mild" and seems like most do fine on it, but is it within normal parameters to feel worse for a few days/week before the meds start to work? Does he look dehydrated at all? (This is the second time I have seen him full black beard..it's so funny! I've kept him and Cas separate and blocked off from visual contact since the first day I brought Cas home and Norm stomped and bearded for hours, while poor cas spent the next three days waving at the white wall But today they caught each other's eye and he is still unhappy about it...and Cas is still in his cage waving.
And lastly, how long is too long for a tail to shed? It's been nearly three weeks now that his tail has looked like this:
Thanks! I have had Norm since March and Cas almost two months, and I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing! I swear I spend most of my day fussing over them and taking temps! I'm glad I work from home, I would be a nervous wreck if I had to sit at work all day wondering how they were doing LOL
