So a long time ago I briefly looked into de-wormer for my bearded dragon, he's never had worms yet, but with a lot of my animal every six months I give them a wormer just as a preventative and it never occurred me to give my beardie any, is there any known medicine that works good?

Has anyone used this one ^^ if so that makes it really easy for me seeing as that's sold at my feed store.

Also this, the description talks a good game but I've never heard of it before.

Hello,

Panacur is widely used among mammals, livestock as well as reptiles also. It is very safe if dosed properly.
I am not a huge advocate of deworming for maintenance, especially with reptiles, if done properly, he will be fine.
Have you done a fecal on him before?

Many breeders of reptiles do deworm about once per year because fecal testing of the whole collection would be expensive. If you only have one or a small group it would be better to test before treating.

Agreed, it's better to test a fecal every few months and treat when necessary instead of treating regularly. Reptiles process things so slowly, you don't want them on meds if it's not necessary. Also, you'll want to know what worms to treat for and the dosage strength will depend on the level of parasite load. For example Coccidia takes a different medication then Pinworms or Giardia.

Thanks everyone for the help! I never been able to do routine fecal test or checkups unless I'm worried for his health because the nearest vet with any knowledge of reptiles is 3 hours away and he doesn't charge an arm for it, but I called around and found a place that I'm hoping is good and it 2 times less than what I did pay (including gas), so I'll be able to afford a fecal test at least twice a year. Point is I'm saying thank you for making me little bit nervous by not doing routine fecal test, made me paranoid and I called a bunch of places and found something that doesn't kill my bank account and ensures me he's healthy.

Glad you found a cheaper vet that is closer.
Last time I had a fecal test on one of mine it was only $13. Not sure if that's average price or not though....

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
