My first thought is: after naming her Petunia, hopefully she turns out to be a girl
My fiance (dmglakewood on this forum) has a bearded dragon (Norman) we got last summer and while in Petco getting crickets for him a few days ago, I was playing with the baby bearded dragons and there was one that kept climbing the glass and following me back and forth where I walked (probably just hungry, but its the thought that counts!) After looking at the terrible conditions they're kept in the pet store, we decided to adopt her since we have learned a lot about raising beardies and having all of the stuff the older dragon grew out of,we decided to do our part to save one of them. So we went back today and even though it didn't have the same glass-climbing reaction, I think we picked out the same one that liked us so much the other day. When we got her home and a little less stressed she turned out to have such nice coloring we hadn't even seen there; she seems to be a light yellow or almost cream and light gray with almost blue/lavender undertones, she almost seems pastel, and then she has some red streaks every now and then- I can't wait to see what her coloring turns out to be as an adult! So here she is in her BeardedDragon.org debut:
PETUNIA!
Right when we got home, transferring her to the viv, she's quite curious and observant, as you can see by the head tilt
"Ahhh, so much nicer basking here than Petco"
Her first hydration bath
We gave her a little baby food squash to hopefully alleviate any impaction that occurred at the petstore from eating the calci-sand. As you can see, she loved it
