Powersun Bashing - What's The Deal?

Guys, I see a lot of you have been bashing ZooMed's Powersun MVB, and I just have to put this out there..

I currently have 3 Powersuns currently running for my two bearded dragons AND my mali uromastyx and have been using this bulb for over a year now with great success. I've seen an increase in activity and color in comparison to the Reptisun 10.0 strip. My temps have been extremely stable (I monitor them very frequently with a infrared thermometer), too! Is it just me or is there a lot of unnecessary product paranoia within the bearded dragon community? :roll: Of course, all reptile products need to be met with a level of skepticism - Unfortunately, we all know that companies like Zilla and ZooMed produce some crappy products..

But seriously.. Am I the only one who's had positive results from these bulbs? :silent:

One thing I don't think the Powersun provides is consistency. From what I've heard, seen, and experienced, the Powersun gives out more faulty batches than other successful lights. ReptiSun and Mega, on the other hand, can be trusted more often, IMO.

I do agree, the Powersun gets more bad rep than it deserves, I don't consider it to be a bad..product? but I don't trust every Powersun light to be a good one. I trust ReptiSun 10.0.

It's nice to hear of your experience though I think BD.org needs to hear about the success about certain bulbs that are so often put down. I'm sure others have gotten good results as well, but I think that ReptiSun and Mega have better reputations for a reason.

There was evidently a change about 8 months ago in them that started causing some issues. THOSE are the ones people are being concerned about. They have had severe issues with the eyes and how much UVB is being put out. If you read through the threads on them one of the first questions asked is what did the box look like, how long have you had it, etc etc.

I think the paranoia is because it only takes one mistake to kill your dragon? And since you can have the little buggers for 10 years or so, some people probably get really attached to them.
