Potty training???

I have a 3 year old beardie boy, Milo. Just today he made quite a mess in his cage, and I wondered if it would be possible to potty train him. I know it's probably not doable to train him so he won't go while outside his cage, but if so, I would like to start with him while he's inside his enclosure. Any ideas/tips welcome

I don't know about training them, but they all tend to have their own poop personalities. Some refuse to go in their vivs and will only go outside it. Perhaps try and 'poop' your dragon by giving it a warm bath and gently massaging his tummy. My boy likes to poop in his baths and hates going in his viv, but he's a juvie so he poops a lot and it happens lol.

i have both of my dragons trained to go in the tub. some times they go within 2 minutes.

Tasty Treat was a horror when it came to pooping. she went anywhere and would run through it or sit on it.

after many weeks (months? i can't recall how long it took) she finally stopped pooping in her viv. she gets a bath every other day and will hold it until she goes in the bath. if she absolutely has to go she goes off the side of her log and no longer "paints" with it.

once they get the idea that they no longer have to have the smelly poop in their home they will prefer to go outside. hopefully. plus hating the baths helped. if she had poop on her she got an extra long bath with a scrubbing. she was never happy about that, lol.

not sure if or how people train them to go in a certain area of the viv.

hope this works but this is a video of how i make my dragon poop in the tub... i make him swim and that stimulates the poop, and its a good work out for him.

I have recently put in a "litter box" (long gladware container) filled with alfalfa pellets in Charlie's viv and she started going strictly in there. Smart little buggers, they are.

Thanks everyone! Milo is beginning to grow a habit of thinking its okay to potty on the couch. Not okay with me! Haha hopefully all of these techniques will work , thanks!
