Possibly Overweight

My bearded dragon is two months old, I've had her since October 7th of this year. When I look at her, she looks fat. I'm worried she's overweight.

Her hot side ranges between 100F and 110F, her cold side between 79F and 84F depending on the day. She has plenty of basking spots, and climbing spots.

Her diet consists of cucumber, collard greens, red or nonred dandelion greens, apple three times a week, freeze dried mealworms, superworms (but I ran out a few days ago and I can't find a place that sells them), freeze dried crickets (we're trying it out because we have two different types of supplements), some jello stuff we got from her breeder (she doesn't really eat it), and juvenile pellets (she picks at it). She's also misted three times a day. And she gets calcium powder with D3. She eats three times a day, five to six hour spacing between each feeding.

It's a lot of information, I know.

Is there anything that I can do to make sure she isn't overweight? Like weigh her, what's the proper weight for a two month female dragon that is around 6 to 9 inches long?

I'm nervous that I did something wrong. She's active unless she's basking, then she just lies there looking out the window.

At that age they are still growing quite a lot so I don't tend to worry about them being overweight as much. Can you post some photos of her? Her diet is nice and varied but I would try offering more live bugs if you can. That will allow you to feed them veges and pass along needed hydration. Instead of super worms I'd offer black soldier fly larvae, silk worms, crickets, or roaches if you can.

I will try those worms/larvae, I would like to do live crickets at least once a week I just need a parent to be off of work. I forgot to add that she also eats watercress.

How would I go about adding photots?

Be very careful with the freeze dried bugs, they can be hard to digest and superworms can also cause impaction [ constipation ] Has he been pooing regularly ? If he looks bloated it may be from that diet.

Def. go with live insects as Cooper mentioned, a bit of greens are good, apples are not a good food item but watercress is, also tr kale, turnip, mustard + collard greens. Collards are tough so always chop them pretty small for a baby.

Here's how to post pics :

Oh, and misting 3 X a day is excessive and may cause problems, just once a day for a drink [ drip on her snout ] and to aid in shedding is fine.

Sorry I'm responding so late, I've been busy these past days.

She does poop regularly. And soon we're going to get her some live feeders, it's just hard to right now since I can't drive and my parents work all the time.

I do cut up everything small enough - still a good size - so she can digest and eat easier. I will cut the apple down to once a week? She loves apple, so I don't want to cut it out entirely. I feed her what she eats because she's picky, she has to be in the mood for whatever I give her.

Thank you for the link.

I would cut it down, but sometimes she doesn't eat for hours. She'll have fresh food in there with her, but she still won't eat it unless she's in the mood. She doesn't go in her water bowl; and whenever I bring the syringe out OR put water on my finger for her to drink from, she gives me the stink eye and will scoot down to where she can hide to get away from me. She hates both. Even if she doesn't hide, she still refuses it.

This weekend, my brother's girlfriend came over and she had a bearded dragon. She said that I should get my dragon tested for parasites. But she could just be fat.

Thank you both for your replies.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
