Possible solution to a sand substrate!?

I got to thinking Im coming from the saltwater world and I've seen whats called a Faux sandbed created for easy cleaning etc I hope it's ok I provided a how to link below but basically you get the look of sand in a sold form no lose particles to be swallowed etc what do you guys think?

Exo Terra makes something similar called Sand Mat. Some folks on here use it without issues. I think it looks pretty good compared to their natural habitat which is an orange-ish hard packed clay. I think the key would be the ability to clean messes up from it easily without the textured bits coming apart. If you can clean and sanitize it easily then it's probably a good choice as a substrate.

That shouldn't be much of a issue since it forms a solid maybe rinse and brush off with light brushing to remove loose particles I like the tile im using but for looks this would look good and natural

I personally prefer to use ceramic tile, the ones with a more rock like surface. I prefer to create a color contrast as well, i use Rust colored tile in the front and beige colored tile in the back.

Im very much considering it since some I've seen look just like sand laying there its just one big piece I will indeed keep people posted and provide pics if it gets done!
