Possible siezure or spine injury?

My little lizard (7 months) fell asleep while roaming, when I went to pick him up and put him in his bed, he put his head straight up, arched the center of his spine downwards, hardened his stomach and started spinning his tail, he did this 2 or 3 times before I placed him in his head, he will now not lower his head (although he is clearly trying to fall asleep) he's not paralyzed as he moved a little bit after I put him in his bed. I am very worried as it could be possible MBD or a siezure, thanks for reading

Hello,

That sounds like a possible seizure from hypocalcemia most likely. If you don't think he fell & hurt himself it probably wont be a spinal injury.
Can you review your UVB lights & supplementation for us too so we can be sure your setup is good.
Has he been eating well lately?
Can he walk, climb & run normally on a regular basis?

What is that? He hasn't fallen recently and ate 25 crickets and 6 silk worms yesterday. His basking spot is usually 103-105 and cool side is in the low 80's. I currently have a coil UVB bulb and I know that is awful for him and I am scraping together money for the fixture and a reptisun 10.0 tube bulb. As of now he gets at least a
Half hour of natural sunlight. He walked and climbed normally a few hours before it happened but he hasn't woken up yet so I'll update you when he does

EDIT: he seems very unable on his feet. he walks somewhat normally but when he stops and holds himself up. He starts shaking and then lays on his stomach and it stops. He also looks up almost constantly. He tried to climb just a second ago and what happened was like almost a siezure. (Keep in mind this is a vertical surface) he put his head back. Almost facing horizontally. Lost his balance, started breathing much faster and puffed his beard. I pulled him off that and held him for a second. He seemed to recover quickly

EDIT 2: he was just on my face, not even a 60 degree angle and lost his balance, he puffed his beard and fell backwards, he settled for a second and then he was alright

Hello,

I am sorry I missed your post. Hypocalcemia is low calcium & will lead to metabolic bone disease.
It is likely that he isn't getting adequate UVB exposure from the coil light. I am glad that you are getting the Reptisun 10 tube bulb, it will be much better. It will need to be 6 to 8 inches from him without screen or mesh in between him & the light.
Taking him outside for natural sun daily will definitely help him out.
How often are you giving calcium supplementation?
Poor guy he is having such a hard time with his balance & still having seizures.
I am happy he still has an appetite though, that is a good sign!

Let us know how he is doing.

Hey tracie, ever since then he has been phenomenal! No seizures or anything, we think he may have adenovirus so we will have his blood tested. I am so glad that he is recovering. We rescued him from a neglectful owner where he was getting under 10 crickets a week and NEVER any greens.

Hello,

Great, I am glad that he has gotten better though. I am sorry to hear he was neglected before you got him.
An Adeno test would be helpful, just to know if that's what you are dealing with or not.
How is his appetite doing?

Hello,

That's terrific he is doing so well now, eating plenty, also. :D
It sounds like he will be just fine now.
Let us know how things are coming along.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
