I just picked up a bearded dragon 3 hours ago from a bad situation and I already knew she was in poor health and I have a vet appointment for Monday set up and ready to go, the problem is I noticed when they handed her to me her beard was already pitch black and she was stone cold. I have her in her tank heating her up now and she had calmed down on the ride home and seemed to go to sleep and obviously she's stressed from the move but she was sitting under the light and she just started thrashing around until I flipped her over and helped her back to the heat and her beard is pitch black, acting as if she is in complete pain. Some background from her owners what they told me:
She is barely over a year old, she paralyzed in her back legs, they're stuck in the sexy leg pose like she impacted but she has pooped this week and her legs have been like that a little after they got her when she was young. She seems like she may be suffering from MBD which I've dealt with before, however the seizures I have not. She only eats insect, no greens at all and they used a uvb bulb that hadn't been replaced in the whole time they've had her and it was some really cheap one that I cant remember the name.
Which I'm working on her diet which will take some time getting her to eat greens and I got her an new UVB, but my main thing is I think she going to hurt herself worse with the thrashing, has anyone ever dealt with this is there anything I can help her pain until Monday?
Any help is appreciated, I'm not completely new to bearded dragons my old man is turning 12 this year but he's the only one I have any experience with so this is completely knew to me.
