Possible Scarring?

I got a 6 month old beardie about a week ago, and didn't notice these brown marks on his belly until the next day. I thought it possible that he had walked in his poo and that's all it was, but after several baths I have been unable to gets rid of these marks. Could it be possible scarring from the previous owner or a bad heat rock or something?

This is my first beardie, so I'm still rather unexperienced with them, despite taking care of them during high school.

Those look like stains or maybe mild scale damage to me. It's in kind of an odd pattern. I don't see any open wounds which is a very good sign. If all is well, the scales should fix themselves during the next shed cycle. Keep a close eye on the area though to make sure it doesn't appear to spread the way an infection would.

It's just staining. My beardie gets them an usually a warm bath and they either go away or fade significantly. Don't worry about it - they'll go away. :)

Hello,

I think it is staining too, it definitely doesn't look like an infection or burn, thankfully.

Actually, I recently moved him into a bigger tank and was wondering about heating. I got a 55 gallon aquarium style (so its about 24" high i think) and i dont think its getting hot enough. I just set ip up today and havent had the chance to get new thermometers so im not sure on exact temp. I have a 100w ceramic heat emitter, and a double dome with a 75w infrared bulb and 50w daylight bulb. I put a small heating pad on the outside of the cool end but i still dont think its warm enough for him in there.

Suggestions?

would pics of the enclosure help?

It's near impossible to tell the temps by looking. I suggest investing in a temp gun. You can get one from Amazon for about $20 and it will give you surface temps in an instant. For something as important as heating it's well worth the money.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
